Lions Club of Mechanicsburg, PA
Serving the Mechanicsburg area for over 75 years!!

Featured Lion

Born in Hazleton, PA, Duke relocated with his family to Mechanicsburg at the age of one. It was in Mechanicsburg that his family’s legacy in the quarry business began, with their ownership of Locust Point Quarry. Following an accident involving Duke’s uncle, the quarry was transferred to his father, and Duke subsequently assumed ownership after his father’s passing.
In 1961, when his father was unable to attend a Lions meeting, Duke stepped in as a representative and became a member that same evening. Throughout Duke’s tenure as a Lion, numerous transformations have occurred, with the inclusion of women in the club being regarded as the most impactful and positive change. Duke has served as President on two occasions, held the position of Zone Chair, and is a distinguished recipient of the 50, 55 and 65 Year Monarch Awards from Lions International!
Thank you, Duke, for your many years of service.
